WE BELIEVE KNOWLEDGE MAKES CENTS
YALP’s aim is to provide financial literacy to youth, families, and the community. We recognize that America is been built on the system of credits and debits. And if you do not know how to wade through it, then as many of us know and do, you are predisposed to succumb to the onset of debt. Many of us drown in the many problems that result from miseducation and misguided values and decisions.
Each lesson is an eventful interactive educational experience. Participants engage in activities that sustain energy and produce excitement for upcoming classes. Participants also have home assignments to complete that functionally increases their financial well-being. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of their new found knowledge by participating in savings and investment opportunities.
Classes for all age groups
Real life application. Not just ideas.
Activities for the whole family!!
“Common Sense of Cents” is a financial literacy program who’s intent is to stem the tide of debt through fun, interactive programming that is tailored for different age groups and experience levels. Each group will learn basic finance, in addition to self-evaluation to discover the emotion cues that drives attitudes concerning money. Below is listed a basic example of a session of class. The subjects will follow course lectures, events, and activities that will highlight becoming more aware of personal and household finances. By understanding the emotion behind money and the how to fix thought processes, we hope to be the catalyst to our participant’s realizations that their situation can have more lasting impacts if they understand the why’s of the situation. After realization comes the actions of gaining knowledge of how to and the application of habits that moves them towards their individual goals.
If you are interested in group sessions or starting a program, please refer to our program interest form.
